THE MISSION

The purpose of The Forgotten is to fight poverty. An international plight, it does not segregate victims based on race, ethnicity, age, gender, or any other criterion; it can attack any individual and the “bloodshed” ranges from malnutrition to homelessness.

In the modern world, we tend to forget the harsh reality of poverty--the despair, the helplessness, and the suffering. Modern day luxuries do not help as they often make us ignorant of those in need of help. Aware of the existence of these impoverished communities, it is our moral duty to help in any way possible.

Just as love is a universal language, poverty is a universal hardship. With patience and dedication, entire communities can be uplifted. We need only the resolution to begin practicing charity.

OUR STORY: BEGINNINGS

On December 20, 2014, a young lady traveled to South Africa. During her week-long stay, she visited various orphanages, care centers, and impoverished communities. Upon return to the U.S., she established an organization called The Forgotten. Its mission was to combat poverty.

Ever since, she has been fundraising to support those who cannot help themselves. Once a year, she flies back to South Africa visit these communities. But she also travels the world to find more communities to support.

What started in South Africa should not be restricted to one country; poverty is not restrained by borders.
